Spending Time in Nature!...... Again :)

Image
Lempster, NH: Taken in 2019 Welcome back everybody! In this nature post, I spent a couple of hours in Lempster, NH. We went there to go to pick up something for my roommates parents, who live in New Jersey. In order to get to his house, we had to walk through what like a hike but turned out to have a nice view from the top of the hill. I would suggest other people to come here but you may have to ask permission to be allowed onto his property. On our way up to his house, me and friends noticed many deer tracks printed in the slushy snow. Then, all of a sudden, we saw a buck (Male Deer) just prancing through the woods. This was my first time actually going here and it reminds me of being home because of the mountains and trees that surround this area. When we got to his house, we just took a moment to look at the views. I was so happy going on an awesome adventure with my closest friends from Keene. What I loved about being in this place in nature is that there is not a lot peo...

Spend Some Time In Nature!

Image
Elbow Pond: Woodstock, New Hampshire The place I went and explored for this blog post was at an Elbow Pond in Woodstock, NH. I went there with some of the few friends I graduated high school with because we enjoy coming here and spending time with nature, especially when I begins to snow. I would suggest this for people to come to but it is really difficult and dangerous to drive out to the actual pond itself. This is the outside of the pond, we couldn't go any further because the gate was closed for the winter season. In terms of animals, we saw a couple of deer tracks in the snow but not a lot of people because no one lives in these neck of the woods, unless you are risky enough to do so. I have been here some many times, I can't count them on my hand! I love coming here just to relax and enjoy the natural beauty our earth gives us. When we got there, we of course took many pictures of sun setting sky and after that we just talked about life and how we are all doing ...

My Tree (Update)

Image
Hello everyone! This blog post is an update on my tree that I observed this past semester! Since I have last seen this tree, it has changed significantly. The most obvious thing that you can notice is that all of the leaves on the tree have fell to the ground. You are correct, all the leaves have fallen off the tree. I mean, you can still see some hanging on the ends of branches. The sad part of seeing the leaves on the ground is that they turned from a bright orange color to a brown color. That makes me upset because I know that the winter season is coming soon. I also observed that a lot of branches were torn or broken off of my tree. Near the base of the tree (closer to the ground) the tree is beginning to rot. That really makes me sad because soon enough, the tree will be dead. Now, what other tree can I collect a leaf from every year? Since my last post, my tree didn't lean as much as it does now towards the river bank. Again, I would like to point out that my tree is located ...

Sustainable Choices to Protect the Galapagos Penguin

Image
Galapagos Penguin, by  Joesph Tepper The species that I will be talking about today in this blog post are the Galapagos Penguin. These beautiful creatures stand only 19-21 inches tall. On the front of their bodies is a white sheet of fur, that keep them warm from the cold ocean temperatures. The rest of their bodies are covered in black fur, with hints of white patches around the head and beak area of the penguin. "You can find the Galapagos Penguin on the western islands of Fernandina and Isabela" (Klassen, 2018). These are the only penguins to live north of the equator in a tropical environment. The Galapagos Penguin are significantly higher up on the food chain. These penguins mainly eat small fish like mullets and sardines. They are dependent on the ocean currents to bring the fish to their feeding grounds. Since the penguins are small sized, they are preyed by snakes, crabs, and rats on the land. While in the water, they are preyed by sharks, fur seals, and sea lions...

My Tree!

Image
Maple Tree: Woodstock, NH The tree that I will be observing over the semester is the maple tree to the left side of the river. This is a picture of the Pemi River. This river runs through the backyard in my hometown in Woodstock, New Hampshire. This is one of my favorite trees to look at, especially during the autumn season. Looking at the vibrant red and orange leaves makes me the happiest guy in the world! Before the season started to change, the tree had no leaves on it. It just has sticks and twigs coming off of the tree. As days and weeks went on, red leaves began to appear on the ends of the branches. From that moment on, I knew that this tree was going to grow bright and beautiful leaves. I was right. Every year this same tree shows off its natural beauty. Throughout the autumn season, many of its leaves gently fall to the ground, making me clean up after them. You can see many of these trees all over New England. Except this specific tree has always been there for me, e...

What Makes me Happy!

Image
What makes me happy? People ask my this question almost everyday of my life. I always say the same response; family, friends, and life. Seems kind of corny right? Well it's the truth. There is nothing more than being apart of a loving family. They all encourage me to try my best at anything I am doing whether it's sports or studying for my next exam. My friends on the other hand, have been there for me when I am at my worst points in life. Always there for me when I need a shoulder to cry on. They truly put a smile on my face whenever go camping, hanging out, or going on crazy adventures in the deep New Hampshire wilderness. Being able to live my life on this beautiful earth makes me feel happy, even on my darkest days. There are many tremendous places to visit on this earth, you just have to go out and experience this first hand. That's the real beauty about nature. Experiences, moments, and memories are key components to living in such a god giving land. My pictures have ...
